MY FRUSTRATION

I guess much of the problem is that part of me is an incurable show-off. I would just LOVE to show off to the live public some of the behaviours that I've shown as videos on this website. But, no way. Show after show I've been disappointed and sometimes embarrassed. Put a llama such as Oscar ( the one doing the retrieving, bell-ringing, colour picking etc etc etc etc ) into a Show situation and what do I get? Total, total distraction. This animal that ordinarily, in his own field, will sit down in response to a finger movement, roll to verbal command and pick out colours ...will do nothing for me away from his home territory, other than stare nervously and abjectedly into space.

Has anyone had this experience with operant conditioningly trained llamas? Can anyone help?
